Katherine Varney

Katherine was born as Emma Dennis Cooke on June 1, 1916 in the Borough of Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. She was later adopted by DeForrest and Edna Kamerer, nee Hunt, and named Katherine M. Kamerer. Edna was born on December 12, 1880 and died on August 27, 1973.

On December 4, 1936 (or 1937) she married Joseph E. Varney.

Sometime prior to 1941 she moved to West Palm Beach, Florida.

She worked in the cafeteria of West Gate Elementary school in West Palm Beach for many (?) years.

Katherine and Joseph were divorced in (?) and she married Ruben Kimball Barnes (1901-1976) in (?).

Joseph E. Varney

Joseph Ernest Varney was born on June 26, 1914 in New York (?). He married Katherine Kamerer on December 4, 1936 (or 1937). Joseph was the son of Joseph Robert Varney who was born in Australia on March 21, 1889.

Joseph may have (?) served in the Merchant Marine during the Second World War.
